Give champs access to moderation tools!
At Yola we really appreciate the contribution of our community champions. We assign this badge under very special circumstances and by the time we award it we trust the person so much that we would almost be willing to make them official reps. Our champs know our products and services at least as well as we do!
In the light of this they could be of significant assistance to us as moderators. They know the content very well and could help us in merging new posts with canonical threads. They are also quicker than us and online at times when we are not, so they could quickly remove spam.
Would it be possible to give the company the option, when making someone a champ, to give them access to company moderation tools?

Inappropriate?I like this idea a lot. A lot lot. We've thought about it, but it hasn't happened yet. Thanks for starting this idea. I'm voting for it.
-
Good man! Thank you. -
Inappropriate?I recall being told by our GetSatisfaction sales rep that this was happening relatively soon before we pulled the trigger... but this was about 6 months ago. For the same reasons as Monique has mentioned, we would like to empower our specially selected Champions.
Any updates on when this may be expected?
I’m looking forward to providing our champs more tools to help
-
Inappropriate?Yes, this took longer than expected, BUT we're working on this now and I currently expect to release them in early January. I *might* be able to release this earlier for a few alpha customers, and if so I'll be sure to let you know.
-
Please let us know as you start to roll this out, Thor. Thanks! -
Sounds awesome, we are very much looking forward to it! -
This would be great! Love to hear from you when this is available! Thanks -
We're looking forward to it too! -
Inappropriate?Like this idea too, but would wish to see it implemented in an "optional" manner - ideally with some form of total (or selective would be nice) on/off for individual champs.
-
This is exactly how it's designed. We're a little behind on our alpha release (we've been finishing up a big infrastructure project), but it's in progress. -
Good to hear :o ) -
Inappropriate?Sorry to pester, but any progress on this? :)

Inappropriate?Yes! We are almost there. You should hear about this in the next few weeks. Very soon.
-
Inappropriate?Definitely looking forward to it!

Inappropriate?I would love to see this happen.

Inappropriate?PLEASE STOP ALLOWING YOUR "FAN BOYS" (champs) TO IGNORE YOUR FIRST RULE OF POSTING:
- Don't post "It doesn't work!". Please be specific.
When they post:
"Sorry to inform you that 1.71 DOES work. I've been running it since it was posted the first day for dl. It runs perfect."
in response to numerous issues addressed in a post and then mark it as answered not only do they make themselves look like idiots but demonstrate the quality or should I say lack of quality of your support and service in general. I would highly recommend that you post the progress on the current issues a bit more frequently. Posting every 5 to 8 days that the issues will be resolved within a day and then failing to resolve them within that time frame only gets your paying customers riled up. If you are going to post that it will be fixed within a day please follow up with another post at the end of the day with an update if the issue has not been taken care of.

I'm curious - are you referring to Get Satisfaction champs, here, or something else? I just want to be sure we're clear so I can help address your issue. -
Who is making themselves look like idiots, jtecker? I'm sure someone here can point you to the right place. Any specific company? -
Inappropriate?Yes it is the Get Satisfaction champs. I am rather surprised at the fast reply, any chance of getting this kind of response with updates on the fixes to Graboid 1.71?
Thanks -
It sounds like you're complaining about someone besides Get Satisfaction. They don't make Graboid so they can't provide you with updates about Graboid's software: You should try here: http://getsatisfaction.com/graboid/ -
This person is complaining about ME. They asked a question, I answered. They didn't like my answer and feel they have to cry baby to everyone about it. -
Take it all in stride amigo. -
They should take away Darkman223's access to company moderation tools. He is very unprofessional and extremely rude. -
Inappropriate?Yes it is Darkman223, the post I made was:
"1.71 does not work, files listed as english are not in english and do not have additional audio tracks. Filtering does not work, content is not up to normal standard, more info is google which is useless...
I have been using graboid for years and if this is the new way it is going to work they need to say so, then I will know to not use them."
Darkman223's reply:
"Sorry to inform you that 1.71 DOES work. I've been running it since it was posted the first day for dl. It runs perfect."
The reply is not what I believe any reasonable person would call an appropriate response to the issues from someone responsible for providing answers to paying customers. It amounts to a customer posting “it doesn't work” which is expressly stated as inappropriate in the post rules.
Darkman223 has additionally removed a large number of posts from many different users, most of which express the same issues I presented.

Inappropriate?Remember, champions are not official company reps. If you have an issue with a champ, report it in the company they are a champion in.
-
Inappropriate?I am seeing the Moderator checkbox next to each Champ. To recap, can we get a list of exactly what permissions a Moderator Champ would have if I check that box. It would be nice if it had a tooltip or a "More" link next to it, so you'd know what permissions are granted.

We (champions) have moderation rights the same as an employee for the most part, except we are listed as champions.
