Intermediate status updates via SMS/Email
I think this service is great, but the one feature I'd love to see (I'd probably even pay for) would be to get package status updates every time there was a new scan on the package, not just when it was out for delivery. With packages I'm very excited about I find myself checking the tracking entries multiple times per day just to see where they are. This feature would save me a lot of effort.

Inappropriate?I go back and forth on how useful this would be. The main problem is that with the way the carriers send us updates, you might get 5 emails/text messages in a 10 minute period with a bunch of insignificant updates (Arrival, Scan, Process, Departure, etc).
Maybe if it updated whenever it changes to a new City/State/Country?
What are your thoughts on this? -
Inappropriate?Can it be held to a specific status update? For instance, only alert on arrival and departure? Otherwise, I'd think the best implementation would be to alert only if another alert has not been issued in the previous 60 minutes unless the city has changed. That way users aren't bombarded by a ton of messages but get detail on when their shipment is being physically moved.
