Service Type
I think the only thing your product doesn't do for shipment information is provide the acutal service type that is being used to ship your package. (ie Ground, Home Delivery, First Overnight, 2 Day, Saver...) If you could add that in your tracking screen that would be great.

Inappropriate?Hi waynezim!
With the amount of info TrackThePack already shows, we have to be careful not to info-slam people with things that aren't really necessary so each new item really need to be justified.
What do you see being the actual benefit of being able to see in the listing what service it was shipped with? -
Inappropriate? It would have been helpful for me this morning when I tracked a package from and Ebay seller and didn't specifically know what method they were shipping it.
For example, with Fedex's Ground and Home Deliver services, Ground operates Monday to Friday and Home Delivery operates Tuesday though Saturday. This can effect when you might expect the package on a Saturday or not a Monday, and made me question the accuracy of the date it said it would arrive because it was a Saturday. Then I checked the status on Fedex.com and it said Home Deliver and then I understood why that date was possible.
Or if they sent it Priority Overnight and you should expect it before 10:30 am or Standard Overnight and expect it by 3pm.
Just a thought though. -
Inappropriate?Yeah...the time of day it would be delivered might could be useful...but the actual "date" itself is information that the carrier provides directly to us...so if they say it'll be delivered Saturday then it most likely would be delivered then.
The thing is that the majority of people who track items won't really gain all of that extra knowledge by having the service type as they don't usually understand all the extra implications of Home Delivery vs. Ground or Priority Overnight vs. Standard Overnight, so it would just be extra fluff in the grand scheme of things.
One thing that we're working on is predicting what time of day a package will be delivered. That additional information is something everyone can digest and wouldn't be quite so vague as the name of the service type.
