I would like to be able to mark - either by color or icon - those things that will require a real live person to sign for a package. I do not expect you to be able to automatically figure this out - but something to allow me to set this as an option.

Inappropriate?Adding the ability to "flag" an item (really for any purpose) is a great idea.
